Going Beyond

This is a story an aikido student who dedicated his time to intense training that he barely skipped a day without practice for nearly a decade. Surprisingly, he was never alone though unknowingly to him, there was an old man who kept a watch over him for all these time. As fate had it, the old man became weary as his last days were nearing, he grew weaker. Until one time he confronted the student and this is what he said, " My son, have watched you practice since you began and whatever it is you were looking for be it earning a degree in aikido, getting a certification or a goal that you were pursuing, you already have it and if you doubt reaching that goal, then you have gone beyond it."
Days later the old man died until then did the student realize that the old man was one of the great aikido masters.

Sometimes in life we do all that we ought to do. A case in point is if I recall my high school years, personal readings were mainly during preps and dawns, however the weekends were majorly preserved for entertainment, relaxing and cleaning days. For keen and dedicated students weekend was another perfect time to conduct personal studies, finish class assignments and in addition organize group works as opposed to the majority who view weekends as a time to masquerade and narrate those unending idle stories.

To achieve greatness, one must be willing to do exceptionally better than what ordinary people do. These would include giving up some luxurious lifestyles such as recurrent parties over the holidays, irresponsible drinking. Most of all to go beyond everyone's imagination and with that greatness awaits.
